Your Business Counts is a family-run firm.
We prepare federal, state, and local returns.
No franchise scripts. No call-center hand-offs.
Just informed, personal attention from people who know your file.
About the Firm
Your Business Counts was built on a simple idea: the people preparing your tax return should actually know you. We're not a regional chain or a seasonal pop-up storefront. We're a family-run practice in Tigard, and when you sit down with us each year, you're working with the same team that handled your return last year — and the year before that.
That continuity matters. It means fewer repeated explanations, fewer missed deductions from a preparer meeting you for the first time, and a firm that actually remembers the details of your situation from one filing season to the next. We work strictly by appointment, which means your time with us is unhurried and focused — not squeezed between walk-ins.
What We Do
We keep our focus narrow on purpose —
tax preparation, year-round consultation, and bookkeeping —
so we can go deep on each one instead of spreading thin across
everything.
Federal and state returns for individuals and businesses, prepared and reviewed line-by-line.
Planning doesn't stop in April.
We meet with clients throughout the year to keep decisions
ahead of deadlines.
Accurate, current books all year,
so tax season is a formality instead of a scramble.
How It Works
Call or request an appointment online.
We'll ask a few questions up front so your first meeting is
productive, not introductory paperwork.
Bring your documents in, or upload them securely ahead of time. We walk through them with you, flagging questions and opportunities as we go.
We review your returns with you, then talk through what to
watch for next year.
Once approved, your returns are e-filed.
Common Questions
Answers to what we're asked most often. If your question isn't here, feel free to give us a call — we're happy to talk it through.
Your last filed tax return, current W-2s and 1099s, mortgage or property tax statements, and records of any deductible expenses. If anyone on the return is new to us, bring Social Security cards or ITINs for everyone listed. If you prefer, we can send you a checklist based on prior years.
Yes. Each return — federal, state, and local — is prepared and then reviewed together with you — so nothing falls through the cracks.
Yes. Call for an appointment so we can review the notice together, and we'll walk through what it means and how to respond.
Catching up on backlogs is one of our specialties. We reconcile what's behind first, then move you onto a regular monthly cadence so it doesn't pile up again.
We do — selectively. Between returning clients and referrals, our calendar fills quickly, so we interview prospective clients year-round rather than take on everyone who calls. If it's the right fit, we'll say yes, and you'll get the same full attention as every other client on our list.
Call by February to secure your appointment well ahead of the April deadline.
