About the Firm

Our firm remembers your name — and your file.

Your Business Counts was built on a simple idea: the people preparing your tax return should actually know you. We're not a regional chain or a seasonal pop-up storefront. We're a family-run practice in Tigard, and when you sit down with us each year, you're working with the same team that handled your return last year — and the year before that.

That continuity matters. It means fewer repeated explanations, fewer missed deductions from a preparer meeting you for the first time, and a firm that actually remembers the details of your situation from one filing season to the next. We work strictly by appointment, which means your time with us is unhurried and focused — not squeezed between walk-ins.

  • Family-owned and operated — decisions get made by the people who answer your calls.
  • By appointment only — full attention, no assembly-line pacing.

What We Do

Services we offer.
Handled with precision and care.

We keep our focus narrow on purpose —
tax preparation, year-round consultation, and bookkeeping —
so we can go deep on each one instead of spreading thin across everything.

How It Works

Three steps.
No surprises in between.

  1. 1

    Schedule your consultation

Call or request an appointment online.
We'll ask a few questions up front so your first meeting is productive, not introductory paperwork.

  2. 2

    Review documents together

Bring your documents in, or upload them securely ahead of time. We walk through them with you, flagging questions and opportunities as we go.

  3. 3

    Sign, file, and plan ahead

We review your returns with you, then talk through what to watch for next year.
Once approved, your returns are e-filed.

Common Questions

What to know before your first appointment

Answers to what we're asked most often. If your question isn't here, feel free to give us a call — we're happy to talk it through.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Your last filed tax return, current W-2s and 1099s, mortgage or property tax statements, and records of any deductible expenses. If anyone on the return is new to us, bring Social Security cards or ITINs for everyone listed. If you prefer, we can send you a checklist based on prior years.

Do you prepare both federal, state, and local returns?

Yes. Each return — federal, state, and local — is prepared and then reviewed together with you — so nothing falls through the cracks.

I received a notification from a taxing authority. Can you help even if you didn't prepare my return?

Yes. Call for an appointment so we can review the notice together, and we'll walk through what it means and how to respond.

My bookkeeping is months behind. Is it too late to get help?

Catching up on backlogs is one of our specialties. We reconcile what's behind first, then move you onto a regular monthly cadence so it doesn't pile up again.

Do you take new clients, or only work with clients you've had for years?

We do — selectively. Between returning clients and referrals, our calendar fills quickly, so we interview prospective clients year-round rather than take on everyone who calls. If it's the right fit, we'll say yes, and you'll get the same full attention as every other client on our list.

How far ahead should I book during tax season?

Call by February to secure your appointment well ahead of the April deadline.
